Bristol: Traffic detour scheduled for Route 107 at Chilhowie due to railroad repairs

Bristol – Due to work at the Route 107 (Whitetop Road) railroad crossing in the Chilhowie area of Smyth County, the crossing will be closed for approximately 36 hours beginning Monday morning (May 20).

The railroad tracks to be repaired are located near McDonald’s, between Interstate 81 exit 35 southbound on and off ramps and Route 11 in Chilhowie.

Drivers should use exit 39 to access Route 11 toward Chilhowie. 

Be alert to signs and message boards in the area.
