Traffic Alert: Route 640 (Central Academy Road) in Patrick County to close to through traffic for months

The section of Route 640 (Central Academy Road) in Patrick County between Route 58 and Route 621 (Community Church Lane/Bouldin Church Lane) will be closed to through traffic starting September 23.

The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately three months and be removed before the end of the year. Drivers can detour around the closure using Route 8.

The existing road elevation along this section of Route 640 will be raised approximately ten feet as part of the ongoing road construction project to widen Route 58 over Lovers Leap Mountain.
